Staff Software Engineer - Workday Security 🔥


Position Purpose:
The Workday Staff Engineer (Security) is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing HR security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of Workday/HR systems including business process and domain security policies. As a staff engineer you will conduct report reviews and analysis, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards. You will independently identify, troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex HR security issues.

You will work closely with functional HR Administrators and stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend, test, and deliver security related configuration needed for new functionality, and change requests to ensure data integrity and security. The engineer will plan and execute engagements focusing on Workday security, controls, and audits of Workday environments

As a staff engineer you will collaborate and develop strong partnerships with internal IT and Finance cross-functional teams, and assist with the development of Workday Security training materials and delivery to increase knowledge across the team.

Nature and Scope:
This position typically reports to Software Engineer Manager or Sr. Manager

For Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City residents: The pay range for this position is between $60,000 and $210,000. Starting salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive financial and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.


Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:
No travel required.

Standard Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required:
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:
  • 3+ years
Physical Requirements:
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Extensive experience with an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java) and modern software design patterns
  • Experience with Workday Security configuration
  • Experience with security frameworks for user and services authorization and authentication
  • Experience with creating and executing unit, functional, destructive and performance tests
  • Experience with modern debugging and root cause analysis techniques
  • Experience with version control system
  • Experience in designing systems for High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Performance, Efficiency, and Security
  • Exposure to developing technical roadmaps including work estimation, refactoring and modernizing legacy systems
