As a Learning Experience Designer on Pinterest’s Learning & Development Team, you will play an instrumental role in developing Pinployees through a variety of user-focused learning programs and experiences. This role is a balance of learning experience design and content creation. The ideal candidate is self motivated and proactive with a pulse on the latest trends in people development and a proven track record of designing, delivering, and evaluating exceptional learning curriculum to support employees at all levels.

In this role, you’ll be partnering with program managers and stakeholders to identify learning goals and design and develop learning experiences. You’ll bring prior experience developing a range of learning solutions that enable behavior change, knowledge transfer, and motivate employees to engage and learn.

What you’ll do:

  • Support key Pinterest initiatives by owning, designing, and developing suites of enablement resources including but not limited to eLearnings, self-guided job aids, manager guides, and live, virtual training sessions, facilitator guides and participant workbooks
  • Own the instructional design process end-to-end from intake to delivery across for prioritized learning needs
  • Collaborate with various cross-functional partners to identify learning goals and outcomes for learning experiences
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts during the design and development process, establishing design project timelines, addressing user feedback, and ensuring alignment, engagement, and expectation management
  • Design and develop highly relevant, highly impactful learning experiences that align with learning outcomes, using the appropriate delivery method
  • Apply design thinking principles to ensure that the learning solutions meet the needs of learners
  • Use a users-first, data driven approach to design training materials and content for learners and instructors
  • Use e-learning authoring tools to design experiences that include interactive activities, animations, graphics and images, text-based content and assessments
  • Consistently evaluate and improve the effectiveness of offerings to demonstrate impact

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience working as an Instructional Designer, Learning Experience Designer, or related capacity in a corporate setting
  • Experience using online course authoring technologies to design and develop high quality training materials and learning content (including, but not limited to, facilitator guides, eLearning, documentation, animated videos, podcasts, design assets)
  • Experience with Articulate 360 preferred
  • Knowledge of learning science and instructional design principles
  • Solid project management and communication skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and delivering results.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using data to inform decisions on effectiveness of development experiences - and an understanding of what creates both learning and behavior change resulting in measurable improvement
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team and demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability and interest in working independently on driving results and work products, with the skill and interest to serve as a subject matter expert in the area of learning design for the rest of the L&D team
  • Ability to apply the Pinterest branding guidelines to learning materials in a creative and engaging manner
