Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant Position

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for keeping records of financial transactions for the organization and assist with processes and procedures to complete the monthly financial statement close in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts.
  • Summarize details in separate ledgers or computer files and transfer data to general ledger.
  • Reconcile and balance accounts, specifically accounts payable and receivable aging reports.
  • Compile reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business.
  • Work on various vendor software platforms as part of the monthly financial statement close process.
  • Prepare withholding, Social Security, and other tax reports.
  • Compute, type, and mail monthly statements to customers.
  • Complete records to or through trial balance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Can work independently with minimum supervision
  • Self-starter with detail-oriented work habits
  • Works with a high sense of urgency
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple task

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
