Reports To: Director of Community Engagement

Schedule & Status: Full-time (40 hours/week), Exempt

Location: Portland, Oregon or Remote (in the U.S.)

Compensation & Benefits: The annual base salary range is $82,000 - $102,000, commensurate with experience and skills. Benefits include employer-paid health, vision, and dental insurance for the employee and child dependents; short-term disability insurance; 401(k) with employer contribution of 3% of salary; work from home stipend; paid time off, holidays, and volunteer time.

About the role:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading, designing and implementing community engagement efforts for community-centered campaigns and communications initiatives. This role is focused on building reciprocal relationships with community partners, developing and implementing strategies for community and stakeholder outreach and engagement, and providing counsel and training to clients, community partners, and Brink team members.

 

Responsibilities 

Community Engagement Management

  • Lead development, execution, and evaluation of engagement frameworks guided by client objectives, audience insights, trauma-informed approaches, and principles of behavior change, racial and social justice, and accessibility
  • Perform audience-centered research and analysis; connect key findings, community needs, and opportunities to inform engagement initiatives, effective tactics, and change models
  • Serve as community engagement advisor to clients throughout project lifecycle
  • Communicate timeline and budget updates to Account and Project Managers and share responsibility for timely, on-budget delivery of engagement deliverables
  • Manage communication with clients and community partner organizations
  • Create tools, templates, and other materials to support community engagement
  • Co-design and lead trainings for clients, stakeholders and internal team
  • Conduct ongoing research to stay up-to-date on community and policy developments relevant to Brink’s core issue areas 
  • Other community engagement duties as assigned  

Community Organization Relationship-Building

  • Spearhead ongoing relationship-building between Brink and community partners, organizations, and coalitions  

Department and Brink Team

  • Serve as a collaborative member of Community Engagement team
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and committees of interest

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience managing community engagement strategy and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience with a majority of listed responsibilities through grassroots organizing, movement building, or on the job training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience in a marketing/engagement agency or non-profit organization
  • Experience working to advance racial justice, inclusivity, and community-driven change
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and receive feedback across difference
  • Candidates with demonstrated fluency in a language other than English preferred
