About the Product Marketing Team

We develop the go-to-market strategies that motivate professionals and homeowners to try Thumbtack and adopt our new products and features. And we serve as a liaison to cross functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure successful launches and a consistent narrative about our product and the benefits it offers.

About the Role

Our independent, local service professionals deliver the wide variety of services that our customers need to take care of their homes, and are the most essential part of Thumbtack’s business. We’re looking for a Product Marketing Manager to help build an integrated marketing plan to attract pros to Thumbtack, retain them, and then grow their investment with us. You’ll be tasked with building compelling narratives about how our pros can build their businesses through Thumbtack, and ensure that translates into growth for Thumbtack, as well.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering across marketing, product, support, sales, success and operations
  • Leading core analytics and research projects that inform product and marketing roadmaps, synthesizing learnings into actionable insights
  • Owning feature positioning, messaging, channel strategy, and creative execution for new product launches
  • Developing and executing go-to-market plans for major go-to-market campaigns
  • Create overarching narratives that communicate the value propositions from our upcoming roadmap
  • Measuring impact post-launch and keeping stakeholders informed of progress toward team and company goals.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-6+ years of experience, preferably in marketing, consulting, or product management
  • Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork and project management experience, including executing complex projects with outstanding results
  • Distinctive problem solving and analytical mindset, with experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to guide strategy
  • Experience conducting, synthesizing and sharing user research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience creating and launching external marketing or communications campaigns

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience working with small businesses and/or a passion for small businesses and helping them succeed
  • MBA degree

Thumbtack is a virtual-first company, meaning you can live and work from any one of our approved locations across the United States, Ontario or the Philippines*. When it is safe to gather, we will begin to host in-person events on a regular basis. Remote employees will be expected to travel occasionally for these events to a Thumbtack library or offsite team-building location. In cities with 5+ employees, we are establishing local communities, where employees can gather for local events. Additionally, employees in the San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Toronto and Manila areas will have opt-in access to communal workspace at one of our Thumbtack libraries. We always prioritize the health and safety of our employees. Currently, participation in these events and Thumbtack library use are optional. Both require employees to be fully vaccinated.
