Since 1995, Center for Inspired Teaching has been investing in teachers and students toward our goal of transforming the school experience: from compliance-based to engagement-based. Our Youth-Facing Programs, Real World History [1] and Speak Truth [2], are a critical part of our mission.

Inspired Teaching seeks a Program Grant Manager to provide administrative oversight and management for the organization’s FY 19-20 grant from Learn24, an initiative of the office of the Mayor of Washington, DC and United Way. The grant runs August 2019 through June 2020. This is the second year in which the organization has received this grant. We seek someone with experience successfully managing government or quasi-government grants/projects, who is detailed oriented, collaborative, and committed to improving teaching and learning for students in Washington, DC and beyond.

Responsibilities of the Program Grant Manager include:

·     Support and coordinate program staff to ensure all required evaluations are administered and completed in advance of Learn24 deadlines.

·     Support Financial Administrator to ensure all financial materials are compiled and submitted on time.

·     Upload completed evaluations to database.

·     Maintain calendar with all Learn24 deadlines. Keep abreast of all Learn24 grantee requirements, including changes that occur during the program year, and ensure organization complies with all requirements, and that program staff and organizational leadership are apprised of requirements (including security clearances for program staff).

·     Prepare staff for fall 2019 site visit.

·     Attend Learn24 webinars as needed (2-4 times per year).

·     Program Grant Manager is invited, though not required, to spend time onsite visiting the two programs supported by Learn24: Speak Truth and Real World History. 

Compensation and Time Period:

This is an independent contractor position. Compensation is $35/hour. It is expected this position will require 5-10 hours per week, with slightly more hours in November, and fewer hours in subsequent months. The position is open immediately and runs through June 2020.
