About the Role

Trio has a core set of unique strategic opportunities to design and pilot innovative new programs and partnerships as part of our mission to re-imagine the future of higher education. Trio is now hiring our first-ever Senior Manager of Innovation to lead this ambitious agenda of designing, managing, and scaling new pilots.

A key member of Trio’s growing team, the Senior Manager of Innovation role is ideal for an individual who is both a strong project manager and communicator adept at developing innovative solutions and passionate about expanding college and life outcomes for marginalized students that traditional higher education has failed to serve. The Senior Manager of Innovation will report directly to the Managing Director of Growth and Strategy and work closely with Trio’s CEO and founding team.

Responsibilities include:


  • Identify and prioritize high-leverage opportunities to improve student outcomes and serve students at scale
  • Manage school, employer, workforce development, and opportunity youth-serving nonprofit partnership opportunities
  • Build out program proposals for innovative new pilot opportunities
  • Lead strategic planning and management of innovative pilot programs, including:
  • Support the educator pathways pilot and build and execute a strategy to scale nationally in 2022
  • Develop and implement a strategy to partner with schools and employers around building new “earn and learn” pathways for hybrid college students at scale
  • Manage budgets, timelines, targets, work plans, and collaboration with contractors and external partners for key projects
  • Establish key goals and measures for success and present project updates and results to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Rigorously track project impact to identify the most promising new strategies
  • Work with partners to develop marketing and communications materials to document program results, including program reports, impact stories, testimonials, marketing materials, and proposals
  • Develop and execute strategies to rapidly bring successful new pilots to scale
  • Actively pursue funding, grants, and additional investments to grow successful pilots
  • Project manage other strategic initiatives as needed
  • Contribute to annual organization-wide strategic planning process
  • Act as key member of Trio’s growing team, taking on other other duties as assigned
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience. Prior work in project management, strategy, and/or consulting preferred
