Position Description:

QDI is the worldwide leader in software solutions for genomic data analysis and interpretation. We are expanding our team of Clinical Insights Sales Development Representatives (SDR), who are responsible for helping to grow our business with clinical lab entities. The SDR role involves prospecting to help fill our customer pipeline, qualifying leads to focus efforts on prospects most likely to purchase and working closely with other internal and field-based members of the sales team to pursue shared sales targets.



What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop a robust understanding of QDI’s clinical portfolio, including QCI Interpret, QCI Precision Insights, HGMD and COSMIC, and continue learning as our clinical portfolio expands.
  • Execute strategies to connect with new prospects to meet and exceed new business goals.
  • Effectively qualify requests for information about QDI’s clinical portfolio, including but not limited to: Trial Requests, Demo Requests and Consultations.
  • Initiate outbound communication to current and prospective clients to help identify sales opportunities.
  • Take a structured, analytical approach towards executing outreach campaigns to the target audience.
  • Demonstrate capability to gather customer input, understand the current state and deliver an effective reframe to guide customers to QDI.
  • Seek out and collect qualified referrals to help identify new leads.
  • Show flexibility to manage multiple calendars simultaneously.
  • Work effectively in a team-centric environment to achieve team goals in addition to your own targets.



Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree: Preferably in Business, Engineering, Science, or a Related Field
  • Solid Genetics and Molecular Biology foundation to allow for a consultative approach with M.D. / Ph.D.- level customers.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Life Science sales role, or a related field with customer-facing experience.
  • Software sales experience with proven ability to position software licensing approaches is preferred.
  • Facilitates virtual meetings effectively, professionally, and comfortably with customers, colleagues and management.
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Bioinformatics methods preferred.
  • Goal-oriented, motivated to work hard to meet or surpass targets.
  • Active listening capabilities to glean complete and clear information from clients and to help build rapport.
  • Highly organized.
  • High energy with ability to work on several projects simultaneously and methodically.



Personal Requirements:

  • Residency must be in the United States or Canada. Locations in the United States Western Time Zone are preferred.
  • The SDR position is a remote sales position, primarily working from home.
  • Travel is estimated at 10% but is not limited as such.
