Venture For America is currently seeking a Recruitment Manager.  


The Role: The Recruitment Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Talent and will (1) support strategy development and execution alongside other recruiters to ensure VFA recruits a diverse and high-quality applicant pool, (2) engage applicants to ensure high applicant retention and matriculation, (3) spearhead lead generation strategy with job platforms, job boards, and other potential sources, (4) lead data management and reporting for the recruitment team to analyze and identify the most effective recruitment strategies, and (5) lead university recruitment efforts for a portfolio of 4-5 cities.  


Salary Range: $58,000-68,000

Key responsibilities:

Fellow Recruitment Responsibilities:

  • Develop recruitment strategy with recruitment peers that will support Venture For America to reach application and fellow recruitment targets and diversity benchmarks 
  • Spearhead lead generation strategy and mobilize peers to effectively utilize sourcing platforms, job boards, and other lead generation opportunities 
  • Source and conduct outreach to qualified candidates 
  • Act as the main point of contact for a pipeline of prospective candidates and applicants, mentoring them through the application process and supporting those who receive an offer to matriculate 
  • Identify, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders for a portfolio of regional campus and partner organizations to maximize outreach efforts and promote Venture For America’s brand 
  • Create, track and measure recruitment metrics in salesforce and ensure necessary insights are collected and shared, and lead the recruitment team’s reporting efforts 
  • Analyze recruitment data to adjust strategy and leverage learnings from successes and failures to make pivots for campaign and inform broader strategy 
  • Support and provide input to optimize Salesforce recruitment usage beginning in 2023 recruitment season 
  • Support peers as needed to mobilize Venture For America Fellows and Alums to refer candidates and support the recruitment process.  
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create collateral and brand-aligned communications strategy to support recruitment and brand-building efforts

Responsibilities for Selection Process:

  • Participate in Venture For America selection events, such as reviewing applications and interviewing candidates on an ongoing basis 
  • Assist with internal quality-control processes 
  • Collaborate to improve our existing selection processes

Responsibilities for Onboarding Process:

  • Review Fellow onboarding materials in recruitment off season
  • Conduct coaching exercises for Fellows in onboarding process

You

  • Have Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition
  • Have experience and demonstrated impact in recruitment, preferably sourcing, and lead generation focused work with university recruitment or entry-level positions 
  • Have exceptional written communication and ability to strategically tailor and adapt communication to various audiences 
  • Have relationship building and communication skills, preferably have a track record of sourcing and building relationships with campus stakeholders
  • Operate with a DEI lens 
  • Have excellent organizational skills, time management, attention to detail and follow through
  • Have strong reasoning and strategic thinking skills which allows you to analyze and pull trends from data to make strategic decisions 
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, significant experience in Salesforce and Excel preferred

Work Demands

  • Working with colleagues across the country leveraging remote technologies
  • Ability to travel in various US cities as needed beginning in 2022 
  • Willingness to work some evenings
