National Director Of Programs


Momentum Advisory Collective seeks an experienced National Director of Programs to lead the charge in establishing and developing localized workforce development programs in cities nationwide.

The goal of the National Director of Programs is to support new Café Momentum locations in building and maintaining programs that employ, train and provide wraparound services to justice-involved youth.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful teacher, passionate about juvenile justice reform, caring, patient, eager to learn, and focused on innovation in workforce development. When working with other organizations, they are collaborative and engaging. Though this position is not a direct service role, when working directly with youth, they inspire them to be the best version of themselves, motivating them to shoot for excellence in their everyday lives. Prioritization will be placed on those applicants with relevant lived experience.

The National Director of Programs is a key member of the operations team. They report to the Chief Operating Officer and work in close partnership with the National Director of Restaurant Training. This position’s responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and building relationships with juvenile justice partners and/or aligned community-based organizations in new markets
  • Developing transformative, experiential and holistic workforce development experiences for youth
  • Building program training materials, as needed, for local markets in accordance with Momentum Advisory Collective best practices
  • Training community-based organizations (train the trainer) in cities across the country to build and maintain holistic programs inclusive of employment, life skills training, and wraparound care
  • Advising staff in local markets on programming and the buildout of partnerships
  • Working in partnership with the National Director of Restaurant Training to ensure the integration of all program and restaurant components
  • Overseeing, assessing and reporting on all active programming in all cities
  • Setting and ensuring alignment between youth development goals and program outcomes
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with juvenile justice departments, community-based organizations, government officials, and other stakeholders in all markets, including youth and parents, as applicable
  • Coordinating the recruitment and outreach of volunteers if/as needed
  • Building a measurement strategy and tracking outcomes
  • Tracking programming expenses
  • Other duties as assigned
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in a similar role
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, large-scale national startup
  • Advanced trauma-informed facilitation skills with experience teaching adolescents
  • Knowledge and experience working through a lens of diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Familiarity with workforce development programs and community organizing
  • Experience managing and implementing projects with a track record of creating positive change
  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications and Google
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral and public speaking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to see projects through to completion
  • A self-starter who has the ability to work both as a part of a remote team and independently
  • An ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in written and oral forms– leveraging data, narrative and intrinsic passion to motivate, persuade, and mobilize a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Sense of humor and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A lifelong learner who enjoys solving problems
  • Self-aware and a student of emotional intelligence
  • Experience in the juvenile-justice space a plus
