About the Position

Dimagi is seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition, a new position in the company, to lead and develop Dimagi’s talent acquisition strategy and lead our small but growing talent acquisition team. Dimagi has approximately 200 employees and an HR team of nine. We are looking to add a talent leader who can help drive the vision and strategy of our talent acquisition while managing our talent team and helping shape further growth.

This will be an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to join an incredibly impact-focused team, is excited by the opportunity to develop talent strategy and practices, and has a strong skill set as a manager and coach to assist both talent team members and hiring managers. This position will report into Dimagi’s Chief Operating Officer and work in conjunction with the Global People Operations (HR) team. 

Responsibilities

Talent Management

  • Attract, lead, inspire, and develop a strong, high-performing talent team
  • Design and execute recruitment strategies to attract, evaluate and hire qualified candidates
  • Run the Dimagi talent acquisition function with a consistent focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion including how to make our candidate pool more diverse
  • Lead all sourcing strategies including directly sourcing for roles and coaching team members on creative sourcing best practices
  • Build strong, credible relationships with senior leaders and hiring managers as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert
  • Directly own and manage full-cycle recruitment for senior and executive openings and/or challenging open positions, as needed
  • Establish a strong recruiting culture that empowers hiring managers to make excellent talent decisions for their team and the company
  • Develop deep insight into candidate and hiring manager experience and continuously improve every stage of experience lifecycle
  • Oversee all stages of candidate experience (including application, interviews and communication)
  • Forecast hiring needs based on business growth plans
  • Proactively anticipate, lead and direct conversations around complex problems, goals, trade offs and ideas; bring innovative solutions to bear in addressing talent acquisition challenges
  • Identify and partner with external providers as required to ensure hiring needs are met

Employer Branding & Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

  • Lead our DEI initiatives as it intersects with hiring to continuously improve our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts
  • Proactively evaluate and implement creative employer branding strategies in partnership with Dimagi’s Marketing team

Required Experience & Competencies

  • At least three years of experience as a talent acquisition manager including managing members of the talent team 
  • At least five years of experience managing end-to-end full-cycle recruitment activities
  • Experience with various creative sourcing approaches to attract and hire top talent 
  • Experience with inbound and outbound recruiting in the ICT4D or technology sectors 
  • Ability to be strategic and tactical when making decisions
  • Excellent verbal skills, writing skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships (with internal teams, external partners and candidates) and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, such as Greenhouse, and sourcing tools such as LinkedIn
  • Experience with designing and executing diversity initiatives in recruitment
  • Experience in implementing and managing recruitment-related data and reporting
  • Good understanding of recruitment-related labor laws and compliance
  • Ability to thrive and innovate in a rapidly growing environment
