The role

ReUp Education is seeking a results-driven Director of Partnerships & University Sales to join our growing team. This position reports directly to the Head of University Partnerships and will cultivate and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities with our college and university partners. By successfully developing new partnerships and demonstrating your expertise in the degree completion crisis, you’ll enable us to achieve our ambitious goal of re-enrolling and supporting millions of college students.

In this role, you will have the ability to manage the full sales lifecycle in a given territory, from market analysis and prospecting to closing deals. Working consultatively with senior decision-makers at higher ed institutions, your skills in building trust, listening critically, and navigating complex challenges will be key. You’ll also work collaboratively with the wider sales team and ReUp leadership to continuously refine and scale up our sales strategies. The ideal candidate is motivated to progressively grow their book of business, develop meaningful rapport with important stakeholders, and demonstrate our expertise in the space with additional collateral and thought-leadership.

What we do

Founded in 2015, ReUp Education is the only organization that focuses exclusively on helping colleges and universities engage and re-enroll the more than 40% of US students who have “stopped out” and support them until graduation, through our technology-enabled service. To date, we have re-enrolled over 16,200 students, helping 3800 of those students to graduate, and recaptured over $55.3 million in tuition for our university partners.

What you’ll do

Territory Management & Sales

  • Analyze your territory’s potential, identify target accounts, and generate new opportunities for your pipeline
  • Generate new leads through networking and prospecting
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with senior executives and decision-makers, developing progressively more complex deals over time
  • Manage all stages of a complex sales process with multiple stakeholders
  • Manage complex contract negotiations, working with the COO and legal counsel as required
  • Detect and reduce perceived risk for all partners involved
  • Closely track deals and ensure important milestones aren’t missed
  • Produce regular account and opportunity reviews in conjunction with sales leadership
  • Travel: Ability to travel 40% of the time to industry conferences (some back-to-back), client-facing visits, company retreats, and occasional in-person team meetings
  • Refine and evolve our messaging and sales techniques by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors
  • Maintain and update sales collateral, including product overviews, pitch decks, basic screencast videos, customer proposals, etc.
  • Leverage social media and other thought-leadership materials or content as a means of creating inroads with potential clients.
  • Represent ReUp at relevant industry conferences
  • A Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years in a business development, sales, territory management, and/or partnerships capacity within higher education
  • EdTech and/or startup experience a big plus, in particular selling in a new service or product category and/or having established connections in higher education
  • A proven track record of managing complex sales processes and closing deals in large matrixed organizations
  • The ability to sell in a fluid and evolving product and service environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, virtually and in-person
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A mindset toward continuous improvement and collaboration with teammates to share best practices and refine a scalable sales process
  • Strong sense of organization, including working knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Experience using basic remote employee technology such as Slack, GSuite, Microsoft Office, RingCentral, etc.

  • You are a highly relational listener and problem-solver who builds trust through addressing a variety of challenges and pain points
  • You are able to contribute to and improve upon ReUp’s reputation and thought leadership in the student success space
  • You can share ReUp’s mission to a cross-section of stakeholders and create a sense of urgency to close deals
