Human Resources Generalist 🔥

POSITION SUMMARY

If you’re in search of an HR Generalist position that is deeply meaningful, this might be the right career move for you, because our employees are striving to make the world a better place. This HR Generalist will join a collaborative team of 10 other HR professionals. Although Five Keys operates homeless shelters and transitional work programs for people returning from incarceration, this role will be focused on supporting our charter school employees who work in county jails and in underserved neighborhoods in the LA Area and San Francisco Bay Area.

We are looking for someone who can help us with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, new hire training and employee escalations. If you have K-12 and/or charter school law expertise or have experience collaborating with unions and union representatives, even better!

If this job is for you, you are extremely organized, easy to talk with, not much seems to upset you and you enjoy supporting a diverse group of people. You welcome the responsibility to provide excellent HR advice to our leadership team, school administration and staff across the agency. You look forward to getting out of the office to visit school sites and Five Keys locations in both NorCal and SoCal. You also know how to use Zoom and other electronic solutions to stay organized and reduce travel costs when possible. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy building new operational processes and systems to ensure long-term sustainability and success.

Ideally, you also have high levels of empathy, patience and compassion. And if you’re like the rest of our HR team, you’ve got great energy and you’re willing to work hard and go the extra mile to take care of our employees, through a trauma-informed approach, and uphold the Five Keys mission.
