Strategic Partnership Manager 🔥


Blueprint NC is looking for a skilled builder - of leaders, collaborations, and movements. We are seeking a Strategic Partnership Manager, who will provide critical organizing leadership within our movement-building team (Team Catalyst). The role is new, within a growing organization and will likely evolve over time. The Strategic Partnership Manager strengthens and maintains vital relationships with partner organizations and oversees the systems and processes for tracking our growing network. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of Movement Building, leads our movement building team, and supervises a Research Coordinator. The role is based in North Carolina, with significant required in-state travel (up to 30%). Office space is available in Durham, NC, and we operate with a flexible remote work policy. 

Major Responsibilities and Outcomes

Ecosystem and Movement-Building

  • Implement strategic vision for Blueprint NC partnership coordination and infrastructure
  • Support development of movement-building, capacity-building, partnership strategy, guide implementation and coordination of strategy across staff teams  
  • Monitor composition of Blueprint NC partnership, tracking for geographic, racial, sector, issue, and org size representation
  • Recruit partner organizations in line with strategic vision for movement-building - with an emphasis on those that are base building and membership organizations and those representing Black, Latinx, indegenous, labor, Eastern & Western NC communities, and LGBTQ people
  • Coordinate evaluation of the partnership infrastructure and implementation of strategic adjustments to membership processes in line with strategic vision 
  • Develop political education materials and grassroots organizing skill-building curriculum for members of Blueprint NC member organizations, offer training events and resource portal
  • Lead an organization-wide initiative to build a collective historical timeline and digital archive of Blueprint NC legacy

Partner Engagement and Database Management

  • Maintain up-to-date partner lists and share updates via Blueprint NC website, and directly to Board, Staff, partner organizations and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner organizations
  • Ensure clear, consistent and coherent communication between Blueprint staff and partners to maximize internal alignment along organizational values and strategy
  • Coordinate biannual partnership evaluation survey, and produce syntheses for staff, Board, partners, and donors
  • Develop opportunities for meaningful partner feedback into the organization’s strategy through table meetings and other avenues (regular surveys, etc)
  • Strengthen and streamline partnership onboarding processes and build and communicate workflows across staff teams to implement a robust welcome and engagement 
  • Design ongoing systems and processes to maintain and sharpen ecosystem mapping and understanding of interrelationships between partners, allies, and funders
  • Document and track partner dues, agreements, date of signing, and work group memberships 
  • Coordinate quarterly partner meetings, with guidance of Executive Director and support of Blueprint NC staff team
  • Lead planning and collaborate with staff team to create new annual partner awards events
  • Create and ensure stewardship of new partner membership management CRM (EveryAction), in cross-team coordination with Data Associate 
  • Share stewardship of new grants management CRM (Salesforce), in cross-team coordination with Development Strategist and Associate 
  • Produce and distribute monthly newsletter for Blueprint NC partnership

Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Supervise a research coordinator, of our new grassroots anti-racist research program
  • Coordinate Blueprint NC’s movement-building team (Team Catalyst) including team workplan and budget development, weekly meetings, cross-team communications, and team reports
  • Gather team and partner materials and info for development and fundraising, and share regular updates
  • Collaborate with other members of the Expanded Leadership Team to coordinate resources and activities, break down silos and bottlenecks, and increase communication across staff teams

Skills, Qualifications, and Attributes of the Finance Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience, required. 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in development, donor engagement, or another related field required
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, diverse environment and tune into others’ feelings, thoughts, and motivations and earn trust by consistently demonstrating integrity, authenticity, and professional competence
  • Substantial experience working directly with Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities
  • Experience developing effective communications materials for fundraising
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Keeps track of projects and drives toward deadlines while communicating progress in real-time; precision, accuracy, and flexibility
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to address a range of audiences, including donors, volunteers, Board members, vendors, staff, partners and affiliates
  • Personal dedication to the quality of work produced and a high level of accountability
  • Ability to constructively receive feedback and incorporate it into future work in a high-stakes environment
  • Comfort in a team-oriented environment with open communication and inclusive decision-making
  • Ability to support Black leadership, and collaborate effectively across lines of race, gender, generation, sexual orientation, and class
  • Ability to manage issues requiring problem resolution and conflict transformation with excellent interpersonal and intervention skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced changing environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive
  • Willing and able to travel and work a flexible schedule
  • Knowledge of CRM database systems preferred
