CPE is looking for a Manager, Information Technology, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Administration. The Manager, Information Technology will play a critical role in technology operations and partnering with the Finance and Operations leadership team in strategic decision making as our geographically distributed, fully-remote organization continues to scale. This is a critical role for an experienced and motivated information technology manager who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that computing systems and equipment are operating effectively and efficiently.

To be successful in this position you will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and have a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software systems. Duties will include (but are not limited to) the areas listed below.

Key Responsibilities

Information Technology

  • Manage and improve people, systems, and processes in the areas of information technology (IT) and computer systems. Continuously collaborate with key stakeholders to assess the IT efficacy of program operations and establish and/or support systems.
  • Audit existing IT landscape for the organization and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert and coordinator in matters pertaining to internal IT infrastructure.
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures relating to IT, including cyber security best practices.
  • Oversee the annual IT budget and ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
  • Coordinate technology onboarding/offboarding, installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Select and purchase new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary
  • Test, troubleshoot, and modify information systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Generate performance reports for operating systems
  • Ensure IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • Evaluate technology risk in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures
  • Remain up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices
  • Manage interim, outsourced IT consultant, including overseeing the transition to a fully “in-house” IT infrastructure.

Operations

  • Work with the Finance and Operations leadership team to play a key role in CPE’s efforts to further its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work, including raising and leaning into important and sometimes uncomfortable conversations with authenticity, thoughtfulness, openness, and sensitivity.
  • Support with the annual budgeting process and the annual financial audit in conjunction with the Finance and Operations leadership team.
  • Work with the Finance and Operations leadership team to ensure internal controls and budget management in the areas of IT, asset management, cyber security policies and best practices, and cyber business insurance
  • Manage and minimize risk by monitoring risk management policies and procedures to ensure that program and organizational risks are minimized. Review and recommend adjustments where needed.
  • Develop organizational resources and tools to empower leaders within CPE to work smarter, not harder.

  • Ability to be flexible in order to meet the needs of key stakeholders
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.

  • Integrity and experience managing IT budgets.
