WHY NOW

It’s been an amazing year for Doppler. We have helped 4,000 startups and enterprises manage their secrets at scale, more than tripled our team size, and raised a round from Google Ventures and Sequoia. This year we are getting far more ambitious by setting even higher product, growth, sales, and headcount goals.

ABOUT DOPPLER

We’re creating a new category of tooling for an overlooked part of developing software — managing secrets. Applications typically require code and secrets, two pieces of a puzzle that form a living picture. Doppler is building the other half of the picture through the easiest-to-use platform. We are helping make developers around the world be more productive while also improving their security. We strive to be in every developer’s toolkit and want you to have the career of your life while helping us get there. We invest in and support curious, mission-minded people who are committed to solving some of the toughest developer problems.

Our team is entrepreneurial, with a bias for action. We never back down from a spirited debate and believe we are all responsible for exploring the hard questions. We value self-awareness and meaningful impact. We are open to unconventional approaches and have learned not to judge a book by its cover. Your time is your most valuable resource, so you set your hours. We use Slack to communicate and default to zero meetings. We aim to document everything. We also recommend you invest your time in 10% compounding time [1].

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Doppler has a strong base of developers who genuinely love using the product. These developers reach out over support channels to tell us how much they do quite often. Though this feedback is great, it ends up creating a 1:1 relationship between us and the user. We want to change things up and instead give our users a megaphone to share their love for Doppler with their peers.

At Doppler you will be responsible for building out programs that give developers that megaphone, converting them into advocates and champions. How we accomplish this will be up to you. We are open to proven methods or crazy ones! Some initial ideas we have:

– Building an engaged community on Twitter

– Company newsletter

– Helping community members organize a local meetup

Your efforts will fundamentally shape the software development industry, creating a lasting impact similar to what GitHub has achieved.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Community is a company-wide opportunity with pretty much every team being involved. Your closest stakeholders will be the CEO, Growth, and Support, but you’ll also work with folks across the company. We are a highly supportive group of people that are super passionate about building for developers. We all want to help you succeed!

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of community experience supporting developers
  • “In the know” of where developer conversations are happening
  • You have a bit of experience coding—even if it’s bad—and are comfortable with a technical audience(this is a great role to get more technical in!)
  • You’re comfortable talking to customers and are motivated by making them successful
  • You have a track record of identifying valuable projects, communicating the strategy for them, and executing on them autonomously
  • You like to write and communicate concisely
