The Senior Copywriter's primary responsibility is to write creative copy and develop powerful creative marketing that will enable Health clients to achieve their goals. Senior Copywriters are responsible for writing inspired creative copy for healthcare marketing campaigns, and also "pick-up" pieces and all other copy for jobs pertaining to their accounts. They will play a role in creative team concepting sessions and help transform those concepts into successful campaigns and programs. They will help ensure that our creative execution never loses sight of our strategic vision for the healthcare industry – treating patients like people.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Creative talent and vision
  • Create effective, impactful copy that is strategically on target
  • To fully participate in the strategic component of the development of creative briefs and job opening meetings
  • To work closely with the creative lead to generate original concepts that reflect brand positioning
  • To develop a variety of concepts for each assignment that display diversity between them - attacking the creative problem from different points of view yet producing concepts consistent with the marketing strategy
  • To understand the problem they are solving for
  • Be able to discuss and defend these concepts to the brand account team
  • Work with entire internal team to develop effective, impactful copy as tactical elements are developed
  • Follow copy through agency/client process and review from original concept to finished piece
  • Complete assigned projects in a timely manner
  • Be a resource on the product and its therapeutic area
  • Learn and adhere to client regulatory and approval process and prepare copy accordingly

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in copywriting (healthcare experience preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and version control
  • Excellent, demonstrated writing and oral communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to articulate project feasibility to account management and clients
  • Self-starter with an understanding of the unique challenges surrounding healthcare industry
  • The ability to create, articulate and document great consumer/patient/user-centered on and offline experiences
  • Ability to learn scientific information about assigned therapeutic category
