Brief Overview:

The Site Reliability Engineer will play a critical role in the Amwell Hosting department. Specifically, they will work to automate infrastructure management, improve service reliability, and support software delivery and deployment.  This position is based at Amwell’s main office in Boston, and is eligible for remote work.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Automate the deployment and management of infrastructure on public cloud platforms
  • Support services-oriented web applications using container, cloud native, and serverless technologies
  • Develop tools for integrations and task automation
  • Ensure compliance with security and data handling policies, including PCI, HIPAA, and HITRUST
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Collaborate with product developers to ensure successful deployment and hosting of Amwell products

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with programming languages such as Python, Java, and Bash with 2+ years of experience 
  • Familiar with web application architecture
  • Development experience working with IaC tools like Terraform and CDK
  • Fluent in Docker and Kubernetes with 2+ years of experience 
  • Solid understanding of AWS concepts, services, and tools
  • Most comfortable working in Linux based environments
  • Well versed in TCP/IP networking concepts
  • Technical and non-technical communication skills
  • Prior support of production systems 2+ years of experience
