Campaign/research Coordinator – Climate 🔥
The Private Equity Stakeholder Project is seeking a Campaign/ Research Coordinator to conduct strategic research for and work to advance campaigns to address private equity firms’ and similar investment firms’ role in driving the climate crisis.
The Campaign/ Research Coordinator will engage staff and trustees of institutional investors, lead the private equity/ institutional investor component of multiple campaigns, communicate with stakeholder groups impacted by private equity investments, and research investment managers and their investments.
Responsibilities:
- Communicating with/ engaging with staff and trustees of institutional investors (e.g. pension funds, endowments, foundations, etc.).
- Communicating with/ engaging stakeholder groups impacted by private equity’s fossil fuels investments (e.g. frontline communities, environmental justice organizations, environmental/climate-focused groups and coalitions) on issues involving private equity firms and similar Wall Street firms.
- Research investment managers and their investments.
- Regular travel (starting mid 2021 or later).
- Note: This position is roughly ½ communication with/ engagement of institutional investors and other stakeholders and ½ research on campaigns and investment managers.
Criteria:
- Strong commitment to social, economic and climate justice; experience working with diverse constituencies.
- At least two years organizing experience (e.g. as research campaigner, community organizer, union organizer, etc.).
- At least two years of research experience.
- Good attention to detail and interest in doing research.
- Strong writing ability, including ability to write to target audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with team.
- Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders such as investors, policymakers, media, unions, and community-based organizations.
