Aledade and its employees are fixing American healthcare to provide the right care for the right people at the right time.  We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to guide some of our web application engineering teams.  Aledade currently has the happy problem of rapidly growing and scaling up our web application teams, and we need you to help with this effort. This position requires a passion for developing people’s potential, employing innovative strategies for reducing risk, and scaling teams and software to support business growth. Under the direction of, and in collaboration with, a Director of Engineering, the Software Engineering Manager is responsible for managing, coaching, and supporting the teams developing Aledade’s applications.   Responsibilities:: ● Increases Effective Engineering Capacity: Via team growth (hiring), process optimization, removing roadblocks, and reducing team toil. ● Develops World Class Engineers: Via career/skill coaching and performance management. ● Understands the Business’s Needs and Motivations: Via partnership with stakeholders, field interactions, and cross-functional relationship building. ● Ships Software:  ○ Estimating size and scope of projects in partnership with our product teams ○ Holding the teams accountable to their commitments ○ Using evidence and experience to guide decision making  ○ Developing strategies to reduce risk  ○ Assuring software meets Aledade’s quality standard and definition of done ● Role Models our Values and Culture: Service, Accountability, Inclusion, Evidence, Curiosity, and Unconditional Positive Regard Requirements: Skills and Knowledge: ● Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to effectively communicate to a broad range of audiences (engineers, peer managers, stakeholders, field staff, PMs, upper leadership, etc.). ● Experience engineering and leading in an agile software development environment. Comfortable running standups and other sprint ceremonies.  Can articulate the benefits and differences of various agile approaches. (e.g. Kanban vs. Scrum) ● Excellent time management skills, with the ability to execute and guide a team’s direction over one-month intervals. ● Proven success supervising teams in rapidly changing environments. ● Experience developing and utilizing KPIs and OKRs to hold individuals and teams accountable to commitments. ● Experience working as a Software Engineer on Enterprise-Grade Web Applications.  ● Ability to articulate the pros and cons of contracted labor versus directly hired individuals. ● Skilled in performance management. ● Appreciates and celebrates each person’s unique experiences and contributions to the team and crafts teams that maximize those benefits. ● High standards for and experience with hiring and onboarding new team members.  ● Embraces remote work and 100% remote teams. Experience: ● 5+ years of software engineering experience  ○ Preference for enterprise-grade web applications. ○ Experience in Python, Postgres, and a modern JS framework. ● 3+ years of experience leading and cultivating software engineering teams of 5 or more direct reports.
