Business Development Associate 🔥


ThinkGive is a non-profit organization that provides teachers in grades 4-8 with a social emotional learning program that fosters a culture of kindness and inclusion in classrooms and schools. We use the act of giving as a vehicle to empower students to explore their sense of self, lead with empathy, and experience firsthand the impact their positive actions can have on themselves and others.

The Business Development Associate will help develop new program opportunities in order to promote growth. Reporting to the Executive Director and working as part of the Program Team, the Business Development Associate will research and identify new opportunities (new partner schools, partnerships, and growth areas) and ways of reaching prospect educators. This position requires someone who is proactive, can work with little direction, and has a can-do attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Generation + Management

  • Develop and execute on a plan to build a pipeline of prospect customers.
  • Understand the target markets / schools and the problems they’re seeking to solve.
  • Work with marketing to develop opportunities in target markets.
  • Assist at marketing events (conferences etc.) in interactions with prospect customers. 
  • Qualify new prospects and form new client relationships. 
  • Manage a CRM client and prospect database.

Relationship Building

  • Nurture and develop relationships with prospective educators. Meet (in-person or virtual), clearly communicate ThinkGive’s offerings, and manage follow-up.
  • Strengthen existing client relationships to forge new opportunities.

Other

  • Update the Program Team on progress and timeline, providing an accurate forecast of anticipated sales.
  • Recommend short-term and long-term strategies for program growth through new product lines or enhanced marketing techniques.
  • Assist with website content.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • A self-starter
  • Good time-management and executive functioning skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to function both independently and as an active team member
  • Interest in education and social emotional learning
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a sales/business development position, preferably at a non-profit

TERMS

Quarter-time contract employee (10-15 hours per week to start). Compensation is commensurate with experience. ThinkGive is an equal opportunity employer.
