Graphic Designer/communications Coordinator


Type of Position: Non-exempt, 20-30 hours weekly on average. Can vary widely particularly when group meetings happen. Hourly rate: $36.90 per hour.  

The Graphic Designer/Communications Coordinator will work with the Director of Communications to conceptualize, produce, schedule, and publish compelling graphic designs, videos, digital campaigns, webpages, collateral, and social media posts in a cohesive way that achieves public education, marketing, and branding goals. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONABILTIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following

  • Graphic Design: Execute visual designs in accordance with existing brand guidelines (social graphics, website assets, event graphics, in-store and internal branded collateral, etc.) 
  • Videography: Execute internal- and external-facing video shoots to support public education, marketing and branding initiatives, including scheduling, securing interviewees, pre-production, support staff, consent releases, etc. 
  • Newsletters & Social Media: Optimize, schedule, and publish newsletters and social media content across social platforms and profiles in alignment with content calendar, and in support of a variety of overlapping campaigns. Identify and implement best practices for audience targeting and performance measurement. Analyze and evaluate newsletter and social media campaigns and strategies, and report on effectiveness. 
  • Webpages:  Optimize and publish webpages in support of a variety of overlapping campaigns (landing pages, registration pages, blog posts, etc.). Identify and implement best practices for audience targeting and performance measurement. Analyze and evaluate webpages and report on effectiveness. 
  • Customer Engagement & Support: Use editorial content calendar that supports public education, marketing campaigns, promotions, events, etc. Support stakeholders to execute internal and external newsletters, email campaigns, special online events and community building programs. Attend special events and assist with online event production. Respond to internal and external customer inquiries.     
  • Asset Management: Organizing, and archiving digital assets for use by internal and external stakeholders, third parties, licensees, etc.
  • Perform administrative functions of the job to ensure a professional, organized, and efficient department.
  • Effectively collaborate with superiors and diverse team members.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
