Digital Marketing & Website Coordinator


Sea Education Association (SEA) seeks a Digital Marketing Coordinator. The ideal candidate should be energetic and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team, experienced planning and creating marketing content, web design and development, managing projects, and designing digital and print materials.

About SEA: SEA is a non-profit educational institution and an internationally recognized leader in undergraduate ocean education. Since 1971, SEA has educated undergraduate, high school and gap year students about the world’s oceans through its Boston University accredited study abroad program, SEA Semester®. SEA is located on Cape Cod in the oceanographic research community of Woods Hole (Falmouth) and owns and operates two sailing research vessels: the SSV Corwith Cramer in the Atlantic Ocean and the SSV Robert C. Seamans in the Pacific.

Job Responsibilities:

·        Maintain and expand Sea Education Association’s brand recognition within a variety of audiences, including but not limited to high school and undergraduate students and their families, study abroad offices, college professors, the SEA alumni family, the tall ship sailing community and the marine science community

·        Implement and oversee SEA’s social media strategy across a variety of platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Vimeo. Compile and share reports to provide feedback and opportunities for improvement.

·        Coordinate and manage all paid online advertising initiatives through channels including but not limited to Facebook Ad Manager and Google Adwords.

·        Maintain relationships with and assist in content for all online program directories including but not limited to Abroad101.com, GoAbroad.com, and Terra Dotta Study Abroad Directory.

·        Coordinate the distribution of e-newsletters and other print and digital student communications.

·        Analyze website traffic, leads, and conversions for all digital marketing channels and prepare reports and recommendations on a seasonal basis.

·        Investigate and recommend new marketing media technologies for SEA.

·        Assist in the organization, cataloging, and maintenance of SEA’s photo collections.

·        Maintain professional relationships with SEA vendors including graphic designers, printers, and other vendors as needed to assist in the production and distribution of SEA’s print materials and promotional items across all departments.

·        Coordinate the design and development of SEA’s website, monitoring the overall public image and design standards

  • Respond to requests for website additions and modifications in a timely manner
  • Manage various 3rd party tools integrated into the SEA website, including but not limited to Authorize.net, Emma, Calendly, Issuu, Citrix Sharefile, SoundCloud, Zapier, 123 Contact Form
  • Be the point of contact for the Rackspace (host of the website)

Requirements:

·        Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

·        1-2 years marketing and web design/development experience with a focus on digital marketing and social media.

·        Understanding of PHP, HTML5, CSS, and search engine optimization

·        Proficiency in Expression Engine CMS or other PHP based CMS system (such as Wordpress)

·        Understanding of responsive web design and development

·        Ability and initiative to work both in a team-oriented environment and independently.

·        Proficiency in social media use and marketing.

·        Demonstrated experience with Facebook Ads Manager.

·        Video production skills

·        Experience developing content for HTML emails to increase open, click-through, and conversion rates.

·        Availability to work occasional nights and weekends to staff marketing related events.

·        Excellent written communication skills demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.

·        Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver

·        Ability to remain current with changing use of various media for marketing, web development and outreach purposes.

·        Digital photography skills

Other Desired Qualifications:

·        Familiarity with SEA Semester

·        Personal study abroad experience and/or familiarity with the field of international education.

·        Mobile app development
