CONTENT MARKETING MANAGER

We are looking for a proven Content Marketing Manager to help grow the Michael Blank brands by creating, distributing and promoting valuable and relevant content that attracts, engages, and converts our target audience into loyal customers. Experience with creating and marketing content around podcasts also a plus as it's our #1 revenue driver.

SETTING EXPECTATIONS
The Content Manager has strong Project Management Skills, is the Content Marketing Team lead, and is the liaison between the Tech Team and Promotions Team. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.

Such responsibilities will include…

  • Meticulously manage and adhere to the timelines and deliverables in the Content Production Calendar.
  • Ensure that the deliverables in the Content Production Calendar are in alignment with the quarterly objectives and revenue goals.
  • Responsible for the ownership and ongoing success of the Content Production and Publishing Process from pre-production to production and post-production activities.
  • Manage, supervise, and empower the content marketing team to complete the tasks that ensure the Content Manager's deliverables are on time, and completed with excellence. Personnel include:
  • Social Media & Community Manager
  • Writer
  • Video Editor
  • Podcast producer
  • Graphic designer
  • Tech support
  • Digital Marketing Team Assistant & Statistician
  • Coordinate with the Promotions team to ensure launch timelines and deliverables are met and seamlessly integrated into the Content Production activities
  • Work with the Podcast Manager to plan podcast improvements and objectives that expand the reach of our podcast so that it generates high-quality leads that result in revenue for the company, such as:
  • Book interesting guests for the podcast to expand its reach
  • Book Michael on other podcasts to expand the reach of our podcast.
  • Produce the podcast each and every week and ensure that the Content Team promotes it to our tribe via email, blog, youtube and social media.
  • Scope projects to include:
  • Timeline – include major milestones
  • Personnel needed to accomplish project
  • Outside Resources vetted if needed
  • Budget
  • Manage the project to approved scope
  • Responsible for altering the team of any major delays that could impact the promotions calendar or success of campaigns
  • Responsible for the following KPIs:
  • Podcast: Growth of Podcast Downloads by 50% each year (Currently at 7,500, next target is 10,000)
  • Podcast: Increase traffic from podcast to web properties (currently no baseline, needs to be established)
  • Youtube: Increase traffic from YouTube to website by 100% (currently youtube is approx. 1% of total website traffic)
  • Newsletter: Email List Growth from by 10,000 subscribers (this is how many we added in 2020)
  • Newsletter: Increase Open Rate with Subject line split testing from 48% to 60%
  • Social Media: Growth in traffic from social media to web properties. (currently, social is approx 10% of total web traffic)
  • Blog (SEO): Increase in page 1 listings for relevant keyword phrases each quarter

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate we’re seeking has:

  • 5 years’ experience working as a Content Manager or related Project Manager
  • 3 years experience working with and managing a remote team
  • 1 year with producing and managing podcasts, videos, and blogs.
  • Candidates should have a strong understanding of and demonstrated expertise in web content & email marketing; social media management and marketing; writing and design skills; and team leadership and delegation.
  • Experience with digital marketing funnels, product launches, webinars, etc, would be helpful, but not required.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficient in WordPress, Google Sheets/Docs
  • Design skills, such as Photoshop, Canva, or similar
  • Basic video editing skills, such as ScreenFlow
  • Understanding of SEO best practices
  • Experience with Social Media Platform Management & Scheduling
  • Data Analysis (Analyzing results of social media metrics and campaigns)
  • Experience with Active Campaign or other similar CRM/Email marketing SAAS.
  • Experience with project management software such as Monday.com, Asana or Trello.

  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Exceptional communication and written skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to work effectively on a team and in a supervisory capacity
  • Interested in ongoing personal & professional development and training & receptive to coaching
  • Proactively communicates breakdowns and challenges with proposals for and commitment to rapid resolution
  • Proven track record of reaching and exceeding defined goals and standards

This role is full-time and remote with competitive compensation (1099).
