Sales Executive - Student Insurance, West Coast
Job Description
Clifford Allen Associates (CAA) is seeking a high energy person that will be joining the premiere sales organization serving private secondary schools for student health insurance. This position will be responsible for driving new business sales/growth based upon an assigned book of prospects/clients with a focus on the secondary school student and cultural exchange market in North America. Responsible for developing and implementing an updated prospecting process and resources/tools needed to expand business in underdeveloped markets and new channels. The position is a remote based position, preferably on the West Coast, with a home office in the US. Position will report directly to the President, Clifford Allen.
Responsibilities include:
- Achieve new business sales goals on a policy year basis that tie to annual budgets and business financial objectives. Business plan to include key metrics (i.e. key targets, size of opportunity, probability of success) resulting in a defined approach for resource allocation.
- Find and expand client base through utilization of ecommerce platforms and new channels of reaching customers in the secondary school international student market.
- Systematically utilize CRM (SIMPLE) system to support the sales process and help implement design changes and improvements to develop a robust CRM.
- Positively and proactively represent CAA in meetings, Associations, Conferences, seminars, trade shows, and networking events. Expand regional Association presence – in particular mid-West, West Coast.
- Identify, pursue, and develop partnerships with other brokers (P&C, Employee Benefit, etc.)
serving this market.
- Develop and demonstrate strong working knowledge of the competitive landscape and strategize creative ideas for strengthening CAA’s product positioning in the market.
- Pursue cross selling opportunities with other vertical lines of CAA business (5th year, travel, lost luggage, dental/vision, etc.) to enhance prospect and client relationships.
- Actively work to support and collaborate with the Account Executive team by establishing client servicing plans, regular client business reviews, and other significant Account Management services.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ experience working in an insurance brokerage, carrier, or related business to business experience including calling on senior executives
- Strong preference for sales experience in either the insurance, private secondary school market or international student market
- Licensing required either pre or post hiring.
- Proven track record of superior communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
- Experience in ecommerce sales and ability to grow and expand this market
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills. Diligent follow up.
- Goal Oriented – proven track record of establishing goals and delivering results.
- Analytical thinker/Problem solver – ability to ask the right questions, determine the core issues and work until resolution – not a “reporter” but takes initiative
- Ability to work comfortably and respectfully across multiple time-zones and cultures
- Team player – proven ability to develop strong “internal” relationships. Collaborates well.
- Work schedule flexibility to accommodate the international nature of the business
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business-related field preferred
- Ability to travel regularly
