Research Associate, Global Prosperity 🔥


The Clayton Christensen Institute seeks a highly motivated individual to join its Global Prosperity Team to support the Institute’s work through rigorous research and analysis, project and information management, and strategic outreach with our audience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a foundation in business operation and theory. The Research Associate will report to the Senior Research Fellow heading the Institute’s Global Prosperity practice.

This is a one-year position with the potential for an extension depending upon funding.

 Responsibilities:

●     Support Senior Research Fellow’s research, writing, and media activities, by designing and writing briefs on varied topics, identifying relevant sources and statistics.

●     Support the planning and execution of Market-Creating Innovation (“MCI”) Bootcamp sessions globally.

●     Collect and organize information about market-creating innovations into a MCI Hub that helps entrepreneurs, managers, and investors more easily understand the power of MCI.

●     Develop a deep understanding of Professor Christensen’s management theories (Disruptive Innovation [1]; Jobs to Be Done [2]; Resources, Processes and Priorities (“RPP”) [3]; Interdependence and Modularity [4]; etc.) used at the Institute and apply them in order to gain insight into challenges and opportunities in global development.

●     Write grant proposals for future research projects at the Institute.

●     Regularly write and edit blog posts that utilize theory as a lens for global news, public policy, and innovations in the field.

●     Manage the Global Prosperity practice’s social media presence.

●     Monitor trends and news related to developments in international development and prosperity.

●     Organize and manage the internal Global Prosperity research archive.

 

Qualifications:

●     2+ years of relevant work experience, recent bachelor’s degree in economics, international relations, public policy, public administration, or business administration.

●     Demonstrated interest and/or experience in global development or business innovation.

●     Intellectual agility and strategic mindset, particularly as needed to define, gather, analyze, and synthesize data in pursuing research priorities.

●     Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially experience as a writer/editor who can engage a targeted audience through a variety of communication channels (blogging, social media, white papers, and case studies).

●     Proven ability to independently manage and drive results across multiple work streams.

●     Can-do attitude, collaborative spirit, and keen desire to make a positive impact on the Institute and global development.

 

 

Position Type:      Full-time

 Start date:               July 2021

Location:                 Lexington, MA preferred. A remote location is a possible option for the right candidate.

Compensation:      Anticipated annual salary range is $50,000 - $60,000 depending upon education and experience. The Institute provides a comprehensive employee benefits package.
