We’re looking for an enthusiastic and thoughtful team player to join our team! You will lead the creation, refinement, launch and implementation of policy and safety communications strategies that will define Reddit as a platform. You will be part of a growing team that will have extensive impact across the company. You will work with teams to help shape strategy around cross functional partners, including our Trust & Safety, Product, Policy, Community, and Legal teams. We are looking for those with passion for storytelling and thinking proactively about Reddit’s communications as well as the impact on our users, moderators, and other stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work on the most significant issues in the industry including privacy and transparency, community governance, speech, content moderation, and the open Internet
  • Develop strategic, integrated communications plans with measurable goals aligned to business priorities, and be capable and ready to execute on those plans from beginning to end
  • Successfully drive media relations in a tactful and professional manner
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in fulfilling responsibilities
  • Work with executives on their public speaking including training, messaging, and events
  • Create helpful, concise, and clear messaging including Q&A and talking points for team members
  • Stay up to date on global policy and social trends to identify and execute on proactive communications
  • See around corners on policy and safety issues, identify coming issues that need to be managed and initiate response
  • Identify opportunities for positive stories around Reddit featuring our communities, executives, and/or business initiatives

What We Can Expect From Your:

  • 6-8 years of experience in corporate and/or political communications
  • A leader with business acumen as well as communications skills
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder, integrated communications across earned, owned, and paid channels
  • A hands-on leader who can execute as well as plan
  • Ability to provide strategic counsel across the business
  • Proven track record of successfully working with reporters including established relationships with said reporters
  • Independent, persistent self-starter with a passion for and a belief in the benefits of an open Internet and Reddit in particular
  • Exceptional judgement, analytical skills, and critical thinking with demonstrated success working as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage through ambiguity
  • Expert knowledge and proven application of a wide range policy issues related to the internet. Experience in Washington, DC a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to identify trends, negotiate with journalists, and collaborate with colleagues
  • Knowledge of the media and technology sectors and the key policy issues affecting the internet
