POSITION SUMMARY

This role reports directly to the VP of Schools and will assist with school-wide projects and programs, ensuring tasks are up-to-date and running successfully and effectively. You will collaborate with colleagues across the agency, develop project plans and implementation plans, ensure deadlines and deliverables are met, provide updates to stakeholders and communicate to employees and Five Keys’ partners on progress and successes. You will be responsible for a number of projects and tasks across the agency that will require day-to-day management, monthly and yearly oversight.

This Project Manager will work remotely (from home) initially and be available to work on-site 2 to 3 days a week as needed. Since we operate in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles Area, we are open to candidates who can easily commute to our Oakland office or our Boyle Heights neighborhood, in Los Angeles. 


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Developing and maintaining project plans for a range of projects of different sizes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, managing risks and escalating issues when necessary

·        Maintain and ensure adherence to project budgets when needed

·        Responsible for ongoing project evaluation, ensuring all tasks are complete on time, meeting all stakeholders business requirements

·        Work with colleagues to ensure projects are contributing to the wider mission of Five Keys

·        Work alongside other teams to share learning on most effective ways to manage and deliver projects

·        Responsible for the design, management, and delivery of all key project meetings and/or events

·        Support project events such as training sessions, professional development, and retreats

·        Ensure high-quality participant experience of project events, whether online or face to face

·        Must be able to manage your own schedule

·        Abide by Five Keys and Sheriff’s Department policies and procedures

·        Adheres to the Five Keys Schools and Programs dress code policies

·        Other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

·        Knowledge of school operations, laws, and funding mechanisms

·        Managing multiple concurrent projects, with competing deadlines and multiple stakeholders

·        Demonstrates competency in effectively collaborating and communicating with all staff, students, and partners

·        Must be tech-savvy, able to learn and navigate Skilled in Microsoft Office/Google Suite, phone, internet, email and be able to learn and use OASIS (Student Information System portal)

·        Develop and maintain effective and courteous communications with students, staff, partners, and the public

·        Self-starter who is able to drive forward project delivery independently, seeking out colleagues input when appropriate

·        Eagerness to learn new things and adapt to constantly changing circumstances

·        Advanced problem-solving skills; tactfully address and resolve questions/concerns

·        Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

·        Ability to maintain strong and appropriate boundaries with personal identifying information when interacting with staff, community or program partners, students while at any school location or community or program partner site

·        Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal; ability to express complex ideas with clarity and precision in written documents


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

·        Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of project management experience or equivalent education, training, and experience

·        3-5 years of experience in a school setting; K-12 experience preferred

·        PMP Certification preferred


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS                                                                                                   

·        Preferred: willing and able to work in a correctional facility when needed (typically for special events, training, meetings) 

·        Preferred: willing and able to successfully secure jail clearance

·        Must wear provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements when needed

·        Frequent talking and hearing conversations

·        Frequent and prolonged standing, walking and sitting

·        Occasional reaching with hands and arms

·        Occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs

·        Ability to follow oral directions in emergency situations

·        Clear TB Risk Assessment (or results, as needed) dated within 60 days of hire to be submitted within 10 days of hire required  


WORK ENVIRONMENT

·        Travel to multiple sites required, state-wide, up to 25% for meetings and events

·        Work environment varies from site to site

·        There is some personal safety risk working with the at-risk population

·        Moderate noise level
