  Job Description

An experienced business leader who has been responsible for cross-functional teams and successful project and program delivery. Able to manage and coach talent to teach, guide and mentor. Sets the team up for success, ownership of outcomes and accountability. You are an energizer. You are an expert at tradeoff management, understanding managing the balance of relationship, risk and financial impacts at the project, account and portfolio level, and guiding team members through this thinking. A trusted partner to client executive teams, providing insight, guidance, industry and technology expertise. Able to assess and prioritize client opportunities, then clearly articulate the value of R&P services in providing measurable business value. You have a key perspective on FinTech industry and the impact of digital in general that impacts your  clients and grows R&P’s reach and reputation in the marketplace. You are a relationship builder and a clear communicator. You are energized by the opportunity to develop the strategies that lead to impact for R&P, our clients and the industry overall.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as a member of the cross functional executive team to manage the overall success and operations of Robots & Pencils, helping to drive efficiency, product quality, talent satisfaction and client satisfaction across the organization

  • Act as the leader of the Fintech vertical.  You are responsible for all operational and financial results of the vertical.  You will have a team of partners, account directors, account managers all focused on our Fintech vertical clients

  • You will have responsibility for vertical planning, revenue, profitability, and client results for our Fintech clients

  • Direct all aspects of business for the Fintech vertical: solution, delivery, and team.  Lead growth / expansion strategy via relationship building, client mapping and other tactics to drive incremental growth and reach within accounts. Own the overall client relationship, results, satisfaction, and account profitability

You be responsible for the team, and development of that team to deliver:

 

Vertical Expertise

  • Works to stay current with FinTech industry trends and best practices to proactively sell fit for purpose solutions and innovation

  • Leads the development, sharing, and continuous updating of the R&P FinTech point of view, go to market and service offerings 

  • Clearly articulate, develop, promote, and advocate the value and impact of R&P services in driving solutions to your industry

  • Understand key FinTech systems and technologies 

 

Client Growth

  • Understand client’s strategic roadmaps and articulate how R&P can impact and optimize their business results

  • Understand the client’s strategic roadmap and know how R&P can impact and elevate their business

  • In cooperation with the sales team and/or as the lead, qualify potential new client opportunities, seek to understand business impact and necessary solutions, create and drive individual and category deal/win strategy, develop proposal/presentation content and strategy for new and existing client business pitches

  • Negotiate deal structure, contracts and pricing with clients while following outlined approval process. Liaise with outside counsel, finance, outside partners and other executive team members as needed.

  • Support client growth through understanding of industry landscape, conducting quarterly business reviews, and uncovering new business opportunities. Leverage cross functional team for opportunity generation and strategy development. Inform growth based on client and R&P goals.

  • Continue to grow R&P’s reputation in FinTech as well as the broader technology landscape via individual client outreach as well as supporting broader go to market activities in partnership with marketing, sales and other team members

 

Financial Accountability

  • Forecast and deliver against FinTech vertical goals, key portfolio, client, financial, and individual team metrics in cooperation with other delivery team members. KPIs may include revenue, profitability, utilization, chargeability, talent and client satisfaction and other identified metrics
  • Identify, communicate and mitigate risks

  • Work in compliance with company standards and business guidelines

 

Delivery and Execution

  • Accountable for the delivery of creative, technology-driven strategies and solutions within your vertical 

  • Provides oversight and accountability for successful relationships(onboarding, management, etc) and delivery (including but not limited to planning, execution, budget, scope, staffing, and risk management) across the FinTech portfolio

 

Talent Management

  • Create and lead learning opportunities for direct reports

  • Proactively work to assure a highly engaged team staffed with top talent

  • Hires, retains, develops and engages top level client services and other key talent that inspires the trust and confidence of clients and in turn becomes the reason why clients want to work with R&P

  • Create a shared sense of direction and team identity 

  Qualifications
  • 10+ years of client service experience in digital technology services or management consulting Proven understanding of client relationship management, mobile and web technology, digital marketing and analytics
  • FinTech vertical leadership experience and knowledge in financial services industry (Ex. banking, insurance, capital markets) required.  Current or previous consulting firm experience preferred.  
  • Significant experience developing FinTech or other vertical POVs, and service offerings
  • Proven understanding of client relationship management, mobile and web technology, digital marketing, and analytics
  • Proven leadership skills managing complex teams and client relationships.
  • Experience working effectively in a matrixed environment and in managing teams within a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment
  • Successful track record in opportunity identification, nurturing, high level solution design, contract authoring/negotiation
