Executive Director 🔥
Home & Heart is a home sharing organization in Chico, CA whose mission is to increase the stock of affordable housing options for college students and Camp Fire survivors (home seekers), support older adults to age in place (home providers), and decrease isolation through intergenerational connections. This is achieved by facilitating matches between home seekers in need of housing and home providers who need assistance and/or want companionship and have an extra room in their home.
The Position
Home & Heart is seeking a half-time Executive Director who will work with the Board of Directors, program staff and interns to raise funds and develop and manage the program. The salary range for the half-time position is $26,000 to $28,000. Potential for transition to full-time.

Job Responsibilities
Administrative
• Manage finances on QuickBooks and provide budget reports for the Board
• Attend Board Meetings and assist Board members to follow up as needed
• Work with the Board Chair to recruit Board members as needed
• Recruit, manage, and support volunteers and interns
• Provide supervision for staff and interns
• Develop and manage the budget
• Maintain competency of current policies, laws, and trends that impact populations served
• Submit required incorporation and nonprofit paperwork to feds and state
• Generate and send thank you letters to all donors and donor acknowledgement letters by the end of January to those giving more than $250 in a single contribution
Outreach/PR
• Provide information about the program to individuals and groups
• Attend housing related events to promote the program
• Seek out opportunities to present information about the program
• Maintain networking relationships with community partners to collaborate on housing and other resources
• Find opportunities to promote the program on traditional and social media
• Maintain the website
Fund Raising
• Work with the Board to develop a fundraising plan and revise as needed
• Organize fundraising events
• Work with the Board to support an individual donor campaign
• Research, write, and submit grants
• Create relationships and build ongoing connections with donors
Program Evaluation
• Update program evaluation plan
• Oversee the collection of evaluation data and analyze data
• Write evaluation reports
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications (we are open to discussing on the job training and learning):
• Undergraduate degree
• Masters degree or a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in social services
• Demonstrated commitment to serving older adults and/or to the provision of affordable housing solutions
• Experience with nonprofit management
• Fundraising experience with a particular focus on grant acquisition
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working with a nonprofit Board of Directors
• Ability to work effectively to bring diverse populations into the organization and to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups of people
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate the organization’s mission to donors and the community
