Consumer Rights Attorney Content Writer
About Upsolve
Upsolve is the #1 website in America for low-income families to learn about bankruptcy and other consumer rights. Over two million people per year currently visit Upsolve.org. Founded in 2016 out of Harvard Law School's Access to Justice Lab, Upsolve has relieved over $300 million to date for families struggling with medical bills, layoffs, and predatory loans. Last year, TIME named Upsolve one of the 100 Best Inventions of 2020.
Our mission is to help low-income and working-class families facing financial hardship understand and access their legal rights when they can't afford lawyers. This mission is more important now than ever given the financial consequences of COVID-19.
The Role
We are looking for former consumer rights or consumer bankruptcy attorneys to work with Upsolve as content writers, writing articles for lay audiences about bankruptcy, student loans, debt collection, foreclosure, repossession, creditor harassment, debt settlement, debt consolidation, etc.
You must have a proven track record of writing online educational content for lay audiences. We're looking for very knowledgeable attorneys who are very good at communicating complex topics to regular people who have no background in consumer law or finance.
Writers will work closely with our Managing Editor.
How to Apply
To apply, please email rohanATupsolve.org three things: (1) a bit about yourself and why you feel like you'd be a good fit; (2) 2-3 writing samples, which are ideally online pieces relating to finance/law; (3) your resume.
We'll be in touch if we believe we may be a good fit.
