Program Coordinator, National Fund for Preservation of Sacred Places

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator is a historic preservationist who works as part of a team to coordinate and help provide technical assistance to congregations participating in the National Fund for Sacred Places [1] program (National Fund). The National Fund for Sacred Places is a program of Partners for Sacred Places in collaboration with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Through the National Fund, Partners for Sacred Places provides planning grants, technical assistance, and capacity-building support, while the National Trust provides preservation expertise and capital grants up to $250,000 to help congregations restore and preserve historic places of worship. The Program Coordinator helps to review applications and advise and support congregations within the National Fund program as they develop capital project plans.

The Program Coordinator is an excellent writer and editor who produces, for the Field Director’s review, informational content providing resources to congregations and partners working to preserve historic sacred sites, and shares success stories of congregations participating in the National Fund program, through blog posts, essays, issue briefs, case studies, webinars, conference sessions, and other communication platforms. This work requires the ability to relay preservation-related concepts and expectations in an engaging way to “non-preservationists”.

The Program Coordinator also responds to inquiries from colleagues, partners, and the public regarding the National Fund, other National Trust programs, and historic preservation.
