Associate Director, Corporate Leadership 🔥

About JFF and JFFLabs:

JFF is a national nonprofit that drives transformation in the American workforce and education systems. For 36 years, JFF has led the way in designing innovative and scalable solutions that create access to economic advancement for all. JFFLabs, the innovation engine of JFF, mobilizes promising technologies and strategic partnerships to scale solutions that expand economic advancement for all. We bridge the gap between companies and startups, traditional education and workforce systems, and investment.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to sustaining a diverse community with a work environment that is welcoming, respectful, and encouraging to all. We foster a culture of inclusion that celebrates and cultivates diversity along multiple dimensions, including race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, socioeconomic status, religion, ability, culture, and experience.

About the position:

The Associate Director, Corporate Leadership is an exciting new role focused on shaping, expanding, and leading JFF’s Corporate Action Platform -- a growing community of corporate leaders committed to adopting talent practices that benefit their workers as well as their business. The Associate Director will report directly to the Director, Corporate Leadership at JFFLabs.

The Corporate Action Platform is designed to engage and support senior level HR and CSR leaders at F1000 companies, providing them with a network and structure where they can learn about, adopt, and implement talent and social impact practices that create more equitable economic mobility for their employees. The Platform plays a critical role in delivering the thought leadership from our Impact Employer Model [1] to our community of corporate changemakers. Over the past two years, we have had enormous interest in our Corporate Action Platform and have built a robust initial community of over 300 corporate leaders who want to continue to engage with us and each other. This is just the start of building, organizing, and supporting this community of changemakers, and we are looking for an Associate Director who is excited about taking our strategy and approach to community building to the next level, and providing meaningful insights, experiences, and connections that help to expand the reach, relevance, and ultimate impact of our work. This is a chance to build something big, meaningful, and lasting, and to do so alongside a growing, entrepreneurial team.

The goals for our work are ambitious and requires someone with the ability to both set a vision and inspire action from the team and external partners. The team environment is creative, impact-oriented, generative, fast-moving, diverse, inclusive, and highly-collaborative. We are builders and innovators, driving progress in a unique environment that is part start-up, part traditional nonprofit that continues to evolve with the needs of the economy and the people we serve. The Associate Director plays an important role in this environment and is helping to build something starting from the early stages of development. The position requires a dynamic, agile leader who is comfortable across a wide variety of responsibilities.

What you’ll do:

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Develop and Execute a Membership Growth Strategy: Design, build, and execute a strategy for identifying, onboard, and engaging new members for the Platform.
  • Develop and Execute a Community Building Strategy: Design, build, and execute a strategy for how we engage with our growing community of corporate leaders to encourage their adoption of impact employer talent practices. This includes: crafting regular, meaningful peer-to-peer engagement opportunities; identifying important community touch points; running our communities of practice and other community offerings; and strategically packaging and disseminating content.
  • Content Development and Deployment: Articulate the team’s content agenda, influence strategy, and thought leadership. Develop highly compelling original collateral – e.g., case studies, briefs, frameworks, tools/resources – that will drive awareness, action and impact in the market. Design and execute a communications strategy that gets this content in the hands of our community - with a regular cadence and meaningful impact.
  • Project Management: Manage a variety of internal- and external-facing projects. Some projects are with small teams, while others may engage larger teams of people who are from both inside and outside of our organization. In many cases, you may be the externally facing leader on a project, and must be comfortable managing the internal team and external partner/client toward a set of outcomes and deliverables.
  • Meeting Design and Facilitation: Lead the development and facilitation of a range of meetings, workshops, large scale convenings, and collaborative/consultative sessions with prospects, clients, and other external stakeholders. As a frequent external face of JFF with senior level external partners.
  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong external relationships and partnerships with leaders in our field. Help to devise and support a partnership strategy.
  • Business Development: Help lead fundraising efforts for the Corporate Action Platform. Manage pipeline development, build compelling proposals and collateral that describe our work.
